Springtime Fun with Your Pets

Pretty much every day is a “national holiday” for something or other. Many are serious while others are hilarious. So, why not embrace the fun along with the solemn remembrance? It’s important to pay homage and respect for the events of the past, but it’s equally important to enjoy today. Make time to celebrate life with your friends, family and fur babies.
April 1st is April Fools Day
April Fool’s Day is, well, a day to celebrate the foolish. It’s THE day where the practical joker in each of us is allowed free reign to terrorize siblings, friends, and blissfully oblivious co-workers. From whoopie cushions to plastic fly ice cubes, we’ve all been there. One of the cutest ideas I’ve seen is having pets fill-in in human situations. Just imagine Fido sitting at your desk, wearing a tie, and replacing you at your Zoom Team Meet. Hee, hee.

April 4th is National Walking Day
For all of you that broke your New Year’s Resolution before the end of January, here’s another chance to reset. It’s warmer, so it’s easier to convince yourself to walk when the temps aren’t so ridiculously frigid. Grab the leash and get going. Your pooch will love you for celebrating this holiday
April 11th is National Pet Day
It’s the big day, at least for pets. After all the days honoring humans, it’s time to honor your faithful companions as well as less fortunate animals who are seeking forever homes for themselves. Many pet companies utilize the day to promote adoption, wellness, and love. Spend time with your pet showing him or her how much you appreciate them. If you are interested in adding a new furry member to your family, April 11th is a wonderful time to open your home and heart to a kitty or doggie who needs someone.

April 21st is Easter, April 12th is Passover
Easter and Passover are holidays meant for family get-togethers and spiritual reflection. Whether it’s Easter egg hunts or building Matzah houses, April is a month of celebrating the end of winter and the joy of spring. Pet led Easter Parades, holiday themed accessories, and pet specific Easter Baskets add to the seasonal fun.
April 28th is National Superhero Day
It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s UnderDog and Cat Woman! National Superhero Day sounds just like the kind of day we want to celebrate. Pull out those Comicon outfits (We know you either have one or REALLY want one) and snap on your favorite furry side-kick’s coordinating leash and collar. It’s the perfect time for a casual stroll to surveille the Jokers in your neighborhood.

In sum….
Life is short. Make time to enjoy the holiday in the everyday. And if April doesn’t do it for you, there is always World Laughter Day on May 4th and National Wine Day on May 25th to look forward to. Cheers!
